Love is simple

and complicated

and innocent

and evil

Falling in love

Falling out of love

When you look in the mirror, what do you see
When you see yourself, what do you think
When you think about your life, where has it gone
When you go about your day, what have you done
When you do the best you can, are you happy
When you are happy, what do you see in the mirror

Distance

I'm standing

On one side of the bridge

and you are standing on the other

we used to meet in the middle

and now we are far apart

the fog comes in and obscures the view

but I can still see you in the distance

then bit by bit

stones fall

and soon the bridge collapses

I can't touch you

I can't hold you

And soon you disappear

it's over

over

over

Catharsis - I was just sleeping

I wrote a poem based on a line from my Mom after her horrible accident last Spring on the day of my birth. I thought I would share in the spirit of sharing and catharsis. Enjoy.

I wasn't doing anything

I was just sleeping

I fell out of the sky as if my body had

A mind of its own

I wasn't doing anything

I was just sleeping

My neck snapped in a dream state

Rude awakening

I wasn't doing anything

I was just sleeping

I escaped with my life

I held on to my hope

My soul

My prayers

Be careful

Something can happen

When you are doing nothing

Like sleeping
